Nomad Tours at Belverde Estates to Nkambeni Safari Camp via Mpumalanga province
Starting in Jo’burg, or better to say starting in Midrand, Tuesday, Dec 20th 7am was finally the magic hour. This still felt unreal as I have been looking forward to this day for such a long time and now the day should finally have arrived. Although I have had a brief idea of how a Safari would look like, I didn’t really know what was gonna happen now.
After registrations and formal, mainly administrative procedures we found out that our first day would mainly consist of driving to our first camp side. A Reserve right outside the gates of Kruger NP, where we would be staying for the first 3 days of our trip.
400km and several hours later we arrived at our first campsite, the Nkambeni Reserve, where we would spend the first 3 nights. After mounting our tents for the very first time, exploring the campside rewarded us with seeing our first wild hippos.
Dinner, tour intro and get-to-know-each-other were nice and we would soon know what our guide meant by ‘welcome family‘.
The picture shows one of the first zebras we would be seeing over the upcoming 3 weeks. They kind of welcomed us on our tour just outside the security gates of our first accomodation.
